Job summary

Pogue Construction is seeking a seasoned EHS professional to lead safety across active construction projects. You will set safety policies, train staff, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements while coordinating with subcontractors and site teams.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of EHS principles and techniques.
• Ability to identify known potential exposures and drive corrective actions.
• Proficient with MS Office suite programs.
• Proven management, leadership, and interpersonal skills for training others.
• Internal and external customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and make decisions related to project safety, health, and environmental policies.
• Observes and stops work when there is immediate danger to life, property, or environment on projects.
• Collaborates with Safety Director to implement corrective action per policies and procedures.
• Provides leadership on active projects and builds relationships with project staff.
• Serves as site EHS Professional and resource for EHS questions and improvements.
• Develops partnerships with Subcontractor Safety Reps to ensure compliance.
• Conducts EHS audits and requires corrective action by subcontractors.
• Coordinates Safety Committee meetings and delivers training on accident prevention.
• Enforces safety practices per regulations and owners’ requirements.
• Educates staff on EHS guidelines and policies.
