Job summary

Redwood Materials seeks an EHS Manager – Construction to lead on-site Safety/EHS specialists across multiple energy storage EPC projects in the U.S. The role reports to the EHS Director and drives standardized, safe operations with a zero-injury focus.

You will translate strategic direction into field practices, oversee incident investigations, and coordinate with customers and GC safety leaders to meet EHS requirements. A strong safety leader with 10+ years of experience is essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of construction EHS experience.
• 5+ years directly supervising other EHS professionals.
• Associate degree or CHST certification with related experience.
• Ability to interface with Senior Executive team.
• Experience in utility-scale solar or battery energy storage is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage a team of on-site Construction Safety/EHS Specialists across multiple projects.
• Oversee EPC projects within the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction group.
• Translate program strategy into standardized site-level processes across the portfolio.
• Establish EHS procedures, standards, and audit/training programs across disciplines.
• Serve as escalation point for serious incidents and regulatory issues and report trends to the EHS Director.
• Coordinate safety plan requirements with clients, GCs, and self-perform teams at the program level.
• Develop EHS improvement strategies and injury/fatality prevention initiatives.
• Ensure site audits, inspections, and engagement activities align with the EHS program.
• Identify project safety equipment needs and ensure availability before kickoff.
• Assist site teams with incident investigations and corrective actions.
