Job summary

IS International seeks an experienced HSE Specialist to support utility scale energy storage projects in the U.S. The role provides HSE oversight on construction activities, acts as a CMT member, and guides safety decisions with minimal day-to-day supervision.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in heavy construction safety, leadership, and proven program implementation experience across high-risk activities. Fluency in safety culture and compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of heavy construction safety experience with a related certification.
• Proven track record implementing safety programs with demonstrated performance.
• Experience with Hoisting & Rigging Safety Guidelines.
• Experience with NFPA 70: qualified/unqualified distances to energized equipment.
• Strong leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical advisor to the project CMT and contractors.
• Independently determine approaches and resolve HSE issues.
• Monitor equipment, structures, and work to ensure compliance with HSE plans.
• Stop work when unsafe and implement corrective actions.
• Lead safety walks and weekly safety meetings with CMT and contractor staff.
• Maintain HSE training records and conduct orientation sessions.
• Plan, conduct, or coordinate necessary training on health, safety and environmental topics.
