Job summary

Novo Nordisk seeks a Senior Manager, Environmental Health & Safety to lead EHS programs at the Petersburg, VA site, ensuring a safe working environment and compliant operations.

You will own the ISO14001 and ISO18001 systems, advance site environmental and safety strategies, and drive performance through a cross-functional team.

The role requires deep regulatory knowledge, strong communication, and proven leadership to align scope, schedule and budget with Novo Nordisk Way.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology or related technical field with 8+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing
• Associate's Degree with 10+ years in manufacturing environment
• High School Diploma with 12+ years in manufacturing environment
• Minimum of five (5) years of direct leadership experience
• Proven knowledge of state, federal & local safety & environmental regulations

Responsibilities

• Manage site ISO14001 Environmental Management system
• Manage site ISO18001 OHSA Management system
• Develop site environmental and safety strategies, objectives and targets
• Monitor and report site performance within environment and safety
• Ensure compliance with government EHS regulatory approvals & permits
• Lead multi-disciplinary EHS team to drive accountability & results
• Oversee EHS Management system including life safety, process safety & security
• Adhere to milestones, budgets & schedules
• Collaborate within Novo Nordisk to share best practices
• Monitor site performance in environment, health, safety & security
• Coordinate site emergency response including equipment inspections and drills
• Establish waste management programs in line with RCRA
• Follow safety, financial & environmental requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned
