Job summary

Novo Nordisk seeks an experienced EHS leader to manage environmental, health & safety programs at the Petersburg, VA site. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring compliant and safe operations while aligning with NN Way.

Responsibilities include developing site strategies, leading regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement using lean tools. This role requires strong leadership and excellent communication skills across internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years in engineering in manufacturing; pharma preferred.
• Direct leadership experience of 5+ years.
• Knowledge of state, federal and local safety & environmental regulations.
• Strong verbal & written communication skills for non-technical audiences.
• Ability to read P&ID, CAD, SAT, FAT and Validation Protocols.

Responsibilities

• Lead site EHS programs and personnel.
• Develop environmental and safety strategies, objectives and targets.
• Ensure compliance to regulatory approvals and permits.
• Drive continuous improvement using lean tools (e.g., cLEAN).
• Monitor and report site performance related to environment, health, safety & security.
