Job summary

Tlingit Haida Tribal Business Corporation (THTBC) is seeking a Senior Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead enterprise-wide EHS programs supporting corporate operations and federal contracts. This role partners with Operations, HR, Contracts, and Quality to drive safety culture, compliance, and continuous improvement.

The position balances regulatory requirements with business needs, requires travel up to 30–40%, and offers a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education and directly related experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible EHS experience, including experience supporting complex or geographically dispersed operations.
• Minimum of 3 years of EHS leadership or program-management experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental compliance requirements.
• Experience conducting incident investigations, root-cause analyses, safety audits, hazard assessments, and corrective-action management.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical operational processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with employees, senior leadership, customers, and government representatives.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities across different locations and contracts.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and EHS reporting or tracking systems.
• Ability to travel to company and contract locations as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise EHS policies, programs, procedures, and standards across multiple contracts and locations.
• Serve as the senior EHS subject matter expert and strategic partner to Operations, Human Resources, Contracts, Quality, site leadership, government customers, and regulatory stakeholders.
• Interpret and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, state and local requirements, federal contract obligations, customer-specific standards, and EM 385-1-1 requirements where applicable.
• Integrate EHS requirements into daily operations, contract transitions, mobilizations, and project execution.
• Lead risk assessments, job/ activity hazard analyses, inspections, audits, and corrective-action processes.
