Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking an EHS Manager for a leading chemical manufacturing company. You will lead EHSS programs, drive Process Safety Management, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in a high‑hazard environment.

Candidates should have 8+ years in chemical/industrial manufacturing, a bachelor’s degree (Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred), and strong leadership with OSHA and EPA knowledge. On‑call/as needed support is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; Chemical or Mechanical Engineering strongly preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in chemical, pharmaceutical, or industrial manufacturing.
• 10+ years of EHSS experience preferred.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Process Safety Management (PSM).
• Experience with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119 and applicable process safety requirements.
• Experience with EPA RMP / 40 CFR Part 68.
• Experience leading PHAs and Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA).
• Proven EHS leadership and supervisory experience.
• Experience in a chemical manufacturing or other high‑hazard environment.
• Knowledge of hazardous waste and wastewater regulations.
• Experience with Clean Air Act requirements preferred.
• Strong accident investigation, root‑cause analysis, and corrective‑action experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with plant leadership, employees, corporate teams, and external stakeholders.
• Must be available for on‑call and after‑hours support as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead EHSS and site safety leadership within a high‑hazard manufacturing environment.
• Oversee Process Safety programs and regulatory compliance.
• Lead and manage PHAs and LOPA studies.
• Manage EHS personnel and provide site leadership.
• Support site security programs and compliance activities.
• Administer health and industrial hygiene programs and training.
• Lead accident investigations and corrective actions.
• Oversee MOC activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
