  • 8+ years of experience in chemical, pharmaceutical, or industrial manufacturing.

  • Experience with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119 and applicable process safety requirements.
  • Experience with EPA RMP / 40 CFR Part 68.
  • Experience leading PHAs and Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA).
  • Proven EHS leadership and supervisory experience.
  • Experience in a chemical manufacturing or other high‑hazard environment.
  • Knowledge of hazardous waste and wastewater regulations.
  • Experience with Clean Air Act requirements preferred.
  • Strong accident investigation, root‑cause analysis, and corrective‑action experience.

  • Ability to work cross‑functionally with plant leadership, employees, corporate teams, and external stakeholders.
  • Must be available for on‑call and after‑hours support as needed.

Pay Range: $123,720 – $170,115/year + eligibility for Short-Term Incentive program and applicable bonuses

Work Hours: Monday – Friday; on-site; available for on-call and after-hours work as needed

Job Description

The EHS Manager will serve as a member of the Site Leadership Team and will be responsible for leading the site’s Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security (EHSS) programs in a high-hazard manufacturing environment. This position reports to the Plant/Site Manager and provides strategic and hands‑on leadership to ensure employees operate in a safe and compliant environment.

The EHS Manager will oversee Process Safety programs, regulatory compliance, safety initiatives, industrial hygiene, emergency response, training, accident investigations, and continuous improvement activities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead Process Safety Management programs in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.119 and applicable MIOSHA requirements.
  • Oversee compliance with EPA Risk Management Program requirements under 40 CFR Part 68.
  • Lead and manage Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) using accepted industry methodologies.
  • Oversee and participate in Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) studies.
  • Manage and develop EHS personnel and provide leadership across site safety programs.
  • Support site security programs and related compliance activities.
  • Administer health and industrial hygiene programs, including health screening, hearing exams, and IH monitoring.
  • Lead accident and incident investigations, including root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Manage corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee Management of Change (MOC) activities and ensure timely completion.
  • Conduct and participate in compliance audits, emergency planning, and response activities.
  • Develop and administer employee safety and EHS training programs.
  • Prepare and submit accurate EHS compliance reports.
  • Oversee EHS tracking systems and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support mechanical integrity of fire protection systems and other safety‑related plant infrastructure.
  • Work closely with plant leadership, frontline employees, corporate EHSS, and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, MIOSHA, EPA, environmental, and safety regulations.
  • Work effectively in a high-hazard manufacturing environment and participate in on‑call/after‑hours support as needed.
