Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of experience leading EHS programs within chemical manufacturing or high-hazard environments.
• Thorough knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, Responsible Care, and related regulatory/management system requirements.
• Proven success leading EHS teams and building relationships with regulators and operational stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the site's Safety, Health & Environmental programs, ensuring regulatory compliance and internal management system adherence.
• Own and continuously improve the Process Safety Management framework, including Management of Change, PHAs, Mechanical Integrity, PSSR, and investigations.
• Direct contractor safety programs and oversee emergency preparedness, drills, mutual aid coordination, and incident command readiness.
• Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, auditors, local responders, and external stakeholders to manage compliance risks.
• Lead and develop the EHS team and partner with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and site leadership to drive improvements in safety and environmental performance.

This individual will be responsible for driving regulatory compliance, process safety excellence, environmental stewardship, and emergency preparedness across a complex industrial operation. The role offers the opportunity to join the site leadership team, influence operational performance, and build a strong safety culture while leading critical risk management initiatives. This person will play a key role in strengthening systems, developing talent, and ensuring sustainable EHS performance across the site.

The Role

• Lead the site's Safety, Health & Environmental programs, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, industry standards, and internal management systems.
• Own and continuously improve the Process Safety Management framework, including Management of Change, Process Hazard Analysis, Mechanical Integrity, Pre-Startup Safety Reviews, and incident investigations.
• Direct contractor safety programs and oversee emergency preparedness, response planning, drills, mutual aid coordination, and incident command readiness.
• Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, auditors, local emergency responders, and external stakeholders while proactively managing compliance risks.
• Lead and develop the EHS team while partnering with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and site leadership to drive measurable improvements in safety, environmental performance, and operational risk reduction.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of experience leading environmental, health, and safety programs within chemical manufacturing or another high-hazard industrial environment.
