Job summary

Novo Nordisk is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety leader for our Petersburg, VA site. You will oversee all EHS activities, ensuring a safe and compliant manufacturing environment in alignment with NN Way.

The role requires strong leadership, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to develop and execute site-wide environmental and safety programs. Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum eight years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably pharma.
• Leadership experience with at least five years in supervisory roles.
• Strong knowledge of state, federal, and local safety & environmental regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret P&ID, CAD drawings, SAT, FAT, and Validation Protocols.
• Experience in creating work plans and detailed project schedules.

Responsibilities

• Lead EHS programs and personnel to design a safe, compliant working environment.
• Develop and manage site environmental and safety strategies, objectives and targets.
• Ensure regulatory approvals and permits are maintained and compliant.
• Build and mentor a cross-disciplinary EHS team to deliver results.
• Oversee life safety, process safety management and site security programs.
