Job summary

UL Solutions is seeking an onsite EHS specialist to develop and manage environmental health and safety programs at our Northbrook, IL or Raleigh, NC sites. The role involves incident data management, electrical safety oversight, and cross-functional collaboration with facilities and labs.

You will lead arc flash risk assessments, implement NFPA 70E compliant practices, and support audits and regulatory compliance. Travel up to 10–15% may be required.

Qualifications

• University degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety and Health, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Engineering or closely related field.
• Master’s degree or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Professional Engineer license or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or CESCP with 4+ years related experience.
• NFPA 70E electrical safety training or equivalent demonstrated competency.
• Experience reviewing or supporting arc flash studies, electrical equipment labeling, energized electrical work permits, and electrical PPE programs.
• Willingness to travel up to 10–15% and perform in-person audits/inspections in various environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain EHS programs (hazardous materials, emergency response) in line with laws.
• Record and maintain data on safety incidents including root cause analyses.
• Provide technical guidance on electrical safety practices and risk assessments.
• Conduct inspections and tests to identify pollution sources and controls.
• Support development and review of safety policies, permits and training.
• Act as a liaison with facilities, labs and external agencies.
