Job summary

Mentor Technical Group in Puerto Rico seeks an experienced EHS Specialist to support environmental, health, and safety compliance for a client site in Puerto Rico.

You will monitor regulations, conduct training, investigations, and reporting, travel to multiple client sites across Puerto Rico, and ensure safe, compliant operations. The position requires an associate degree and 8–10 years of experience, with strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Engineering or Science is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field is preferred.
• 8 - 10 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accountability, transparency, cross-functional collaboration, and effective communication within the EHS function.
• Investigate incidents and prepare required reports, including injury reports, insurance claims, investigation reports, and performance metrics.
• Support a safe working environment for all employees.
• Participate in the investigation of incidents, near misses, and property damage events.
• Ensure follow-up actions are completed and documentation is maintained properly.
• Conduct, coordinate, and track EHS-related training programs.
• Perform routine safety observations and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Maintain internal and regulatory reporting, including environmental data collection and reporting.
• Serve as a primary point of contact during regulatory inspections, permitting, and compliance reporting.
• Maintain compliance with permits, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
• Stay current with changes in environmental and safety regulations affecting client operations.
• Participate in manufacturing and operational meetings to address safety and compliance matters.
• Promote strong client relationships through professional conduct, open communication, and trust.
• Support workers’ compensation administration.
• Assist with waste management programs, manifests, regulatory reports, inspections, and corrective action follow-up.
• Participate in ergonomic assessments, inspections, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
