Job summary

Terracon in Illinois seeks an Environmental, Health & Safety Leader to direct local and regional compliance programs from Glendale Heights or Chicago. You will guide projects, mentor staff, and build client relationships while ensuring safety and regulatory adherence across multiple sites.

The ideal candidate has a strong EHS background with leadership, project management, and business development capabilities to grow practice areas and proposals for the market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (Engineering, Environmental Science or Geology).
• 15 years’ practice experience preferred, 10 years' experience required.
• Valid driver’s license may be required.
• Demonstrated high level of technical writing ability.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Grow and expand existing EHS compliance services.
• Prepare calculations, applications, plans, reports, proposals, and other deliverables.
• Lead projects and staff to ensure quality and timeliness.
• Develop proposals and cost estimates in response to RFPs and client requests.
• Evaluate problems and develop practical solutions for regulatory compliance.
• Lead safety efforts and promote a safe work environment.
• Monitor and oversee key group metrics: revenue growth and project profitability.
