Job summary

Terracon is seeking a Senior Environmental Geologist in the Chicago area to lead environmental site investigations, geologic analyses, and remediation planning. The role requires strong knowledge of regulations and hands-on field supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology or related field.
• Master’s degree or PhD preferred.
• Experience with Clean Construction or Demolition Debris (CCDD) projects preferred.
• Experience directing investigation, remediation oversight, and reporting for IEPA Site Remediation Program and LUST.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental site investigations and geologic analyses.
• Develop plans and specifications for projects and support observation/inspection activities.
• Prepare and review technical documents, proposals, and regulatory correspondence.
• Interpret subsurface data, generate cross-sections and maps, and collaborate with staff on projects.
• Oversee field monitoring and boring investigations, and assess soil/groundwater conditions.
