Job summary

3M is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Engineer in Alexandria, MN, to lead EHS programs, ensure compliance, and drive environmental performance improvements across manufacturing sites.

You will interpret federal, state, and local standards, manage permits and reports, and collaborate with auditors and regulators while advancing a strong EHS culture; relocation may be authorized and travel up to 10% is possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science, engineering, environmental, health or safety discipline (completed and verified prior to start).
• Five (5) years of experience working in an environmental, health or safety role in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead EHS programs with emphasis on environmental planning to maintain compliance with applicable standards and 3M expectations.
• Interpret and rationalize federal, state and local environmental standards for applicability and implementation at the site.
• Complete and/or review and submit permits and reports.
• Lead environmental performance improvement projects.
• Assess new and changing processes, equipment and chemistry.
• Interact with internal auditors and regulatory agencies.
• Serve as site environmental expert on projects and communicating status.
• Participate in initiatives to enhance EHS culture and accountability.
