Job summary

Client Company in Johnson City, Tennessee, is seeking an EHS&S Engineer to lead environmental, health, safety and security initiatives across multiple manufacturing facilities in the Eastern Tennessee region. The role supports a world-class safety culture and continuous improvement.

Key duties include leading EHSS programs, implementing strategic initiatives, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and state regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of Environmental, Health & Safety experience within a manufacturing environment (with degree).
• 8+ years of manufacturing EHS experience (without degree).
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, TDEC, and environmental regulations.
• Experience implementing or managing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead Environmental, Health, Safety & Security programs across multiple manufacturing facilities.
• Develop and implement strategic EHSS initiatives that improve workplace safety and environmental compliance.
• Manage departmental budgets and safety improvement projects.
• Represent the facility on the Global EHSS Council.
• Lead ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), safety observations, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
• Develop and deliver EHSS training programs for employees and leadership.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, TDEC, and other regulations.
• Manage Workers’ Compensation processes and injury reduction initiatives.
• Monitor key performance metrics and recommend process improvements.
