Job summary

Environmental Resources Management (ERM) in Houston, TX seeks a Principal Consultant/Engineer/Scientist to lead complex EHS compliance projects for industrial clients. You will shape strategy, manage key client relationships, and drive growth across Texas and the Gulf region.

You will mentor staff, lead permitting and inspection programs, and deliver innovative compliance strategies while aligning with ERM's global network and safety standards.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Engineering (Chemical/Mechanical/Environmental) or related field, or equivalent.
• 6+ years (8+ preferred) of environmental/compliance consulting experience.
• Proven business development and client-facing consulting track record.
• Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for expanding ERM's EHS compliance services in Texas/Gulf region.
• Identify opportunities, write technical proposals, and lead new business with clients.
• Develop client relationships and generate repeat business.
• Direct permits, inspections, and compliance programs for industrial clients.
• Collaborate with clients to define permitting strategies and maintain operating flexibility.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to ERM's global technical network.
• Support growth of ERM's management systems, compliance, and auditing services.
