Job summary

Moderna is seeking a senior EHS leader to support EHS operations at the Norwood, MA facility. You will manage EHS events, investigations, CAPA, and ownership of key EHS programs under site leadership.

The role collaborates with R&D, Facilities, Technical Development, Capital Projects, and Logistics to strengthen governance and risk management. You will lead complex RCA investigations, develop robust SOPs, and implement management of change while driving a strong safety culture and regulatory

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of progressive EHS experience in biopharmaceutical manufacturing or regulated settings.
• Ability to lead complex EHS programs with broad scope and minimal guidance.
• Strong knowledge of EHS laws and MA regulatory landscape is desirable.
• Experience deploying ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
• Technical familiarity with analytical equipment, lab operations, and manufacturing support.

Responsibilities

• Lead assessment and management of EHS risks in R&D and biopharma settings.
• Develop and improve technical standards, SOPs, and inspection criteria for safety and environmental programs.
• Lead site programs for high-risk activities: LOTO, fall protection, hot work, confined space, etc.
• Serve as senior SME for regulatory expectations and risk management.
• Own changes that impact safety, sustainability, or regulatory compliance.
• Provide senior EHS leadership in capital projects and equipment upgrades.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to embed EHS expectations in processes.
• Drive RCA investigations and implement CAPAs for major events and findings.
• Use data analytics and AI tools to monitor performance and drive improvements.
