Job summary

Celanese in Bishop, Texas seeks an EH&S Manager to lead the site’s environmental, health, safety, and sustainability programs. You will drive strategy, coach EHS teams, and ensure regulatory compliance across processes and operations.

You will develop leading indicators, manage audits, and partner with site leadership to deliver world-class EHS performance. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 4-year BS degree in the field of EHS management, engineering, or similar technical discipline.
• At least 10-15 years of site operations related experience.
• 5+ years of strong leadership, people management and development skills in an industrial environment.
• Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment (chemical or petrochemical).
• Experience and working knowledge of process safety, environmental, industrial health programs, and safety programs and their requirements
• Experience and working knowledge of risk analysis regarding process safety risks
• Proactive leadership and team-building skills with ability to work across the organization
• Ability to develop and grow talent through coaching
• Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels
• Strong sense of ownership and drive to achieve results
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Comfort dealing with ambiguity
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Works with site director as part of the site leadership team to establish EHS and sustainability strategy and long-range plans.
• Leads Environmental, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Process Safety and Security teams to achieve compliance.
• Develops and manages site KPIs and leading indicators for EHS initiatives.
• Coordinates audits and implements corrective actions to drive continual improvement.
• Participates in field engagement and provides supervisory guidance to EHS team members.
