Job summary

Celanese is seeking a Senior Manager Projects at the Bishop, Texas site to lead the capital project portfolio for two business lines in a world-scale chemical and polymer manufacturing environment.

You will manage the Project Engineering group, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, and drive project execution while ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance. This role reports to site leadership and requires deep experience in chemical project management.

Qualifications

• 4-year bachelor’s technical degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical engineering or other technical).
• PE certification is advantageous.
• 10+ years of relevant work experience.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with 5+ years of team leadership and management experience.
• Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment – chemicals or petro-chemicals.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, cost controls and project expenditures.
• Proven ability to execute and drive projects to completion.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital project portfolio execution for a world-scale chemical/ polymer plant.
• Manage the Project Engineering group and cross-disciplinary teams.
• Develop and manage the capital project plan and annual spend (~$30M).
• Oversee governance, project scope, and funding requests with senior leadership.
• Coordinate with two business lines and ~100 projects in various stages.
• Ensure site safety, reliability, and environmental compliance through projects.
• Provide regular updates to Senior Leadership and stakeholders.
• Staff, resource planning, and contracting strategy for projects.
