Job summary

RTX in Middletown, NY is seeking an EH&S Manager to lead and manage site Environmental Health & Safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as RTX/PW requirements.

The role encompasses audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, training, and performance tracking to drive continuous improvement and a Zero Incident Safety Culture. Onsite position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in EH&S or related field with 10+ years of experience (or advanced degree with 7+ years).
• Strong knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations and compliance.
• Understanding of manufacturing operations, factory equipment, safety and EH&S management systems.
• Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with EH&S training experience.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Willingness to work occasional off-shifts and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation, and continuous improvement of site EH&S programs aligned with RTX/PW requirements.
• Conduct EH&S audits, inspections, and compliance assessments to identify risks and drive corrective actions.
• Lead risk assessments for LOTO, machine guarding, confined space, PRA, ergonomics, PPE, and other hazards.
• Drive a Zero Incident Safety Culture with leadership and employees to mitigate hazards.
• Lead incident investigations, ensure corrective actions, and track risk mitigation activities.
• Develop, deliver, and document EH&S training to ensure regulatory and site-specific understanding.
• Maintain EH&S metrics, records, and regulatory submissions for compliance visibility.
• Partner with internal teams to improve EH&S performance and meet RTX/PW objectives.
• Promote a proactive EH&S culture by communicating unsafe conditions and improvement opportunities.
• Provide site security oversight and support related initiatives as required.
• Maintain compliance with EH&S policies and RTX/PW standards.
