Job summary

Sharps Compliance, Inc. is seeking a Senior EH&S Specialist to lead safety and regulatory programs across a growing multi-site network. You will partner with Operations, Fleet, HR, and site leadership to strengthen workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental stewardship.

This role owns complex safety audits, leads incident investigations, designs training, and drives continuous improvement while mentoring junior staff. Travel up to 40–50% to company locations is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field.
• 5–7+ years of progressive EH&S experience across multiple sites.
• Experience leading safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and environmental regs; hazardous/reg medical waste experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, DEA, CDC and state regs across sites.
• Design and lead facility safety inspections, audits, and risk-mitigation plans.
• Investigate workplace injuries, vehicle accidents, near misses, and environmental incidents.
• Own environmental programs including medical waste, hazardous waste, stormwater, air emissions, and spill prevention.
• Develop and deliver safety training (Bloodborne pathogens, HazCom, DOT HazMat, PPE).
• Maintain EH&S databases, training records, inspection reports, and incident documentation; present reports to leadership.
• Analyze EH&S metrics and drive continuous improvement across the site network.
• Mentor junior EH&S staff and serve as SME to operations and site leadership.
• Lead preparation for customer audits, regulatory inspections, and special projects.
• Travel to locations (40–50% overnight) for audits, investigations, and training.
