Job summary

Sharps Medical Waste Services is seeking a Senior EH&S Specialist to lead safety and regulatory compliance across a growing multi-site network in Houston. You will own complex audits, investigations, and training programs while mentoring junior staff and partnering with operations and leadership.

Strong OSHA/EPA/DOT knowledge and regulated medical waste program experience are required. Expect travel of ~40–50% and a results-driven approach to continuous improvement across sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 5-7+ years of progressive EH&S experience across multiple sites.
• Experience leading safety inspections, audits, and investigations with corrective actions.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT and environmental regulations.
• Professional certification such as CSP/ASSP/OSHA 30+ preferred; CSP a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead compliance efforts with OSHA, EPA, DOT, DEA, CDC, and state regs across multiple sites.
• Design and lead facility safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments; manage risk mitigation and corrective actions.
• Investigate workplace injuries, incidents, and environmental events; perform root-cause analysis and track closure.
• Develop and improve environmental programs for regulated waste, wastewater, air emissions, spill prevention, and pollution control.
• Deliver safety training programs (Bloodborne Pathogens, Hazard Communication, DOT Hazmat, PPE) and create curricula.
