Qualifications

• BS in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related technical field.
• 5+ years of progressive EH&S experience in field or power generation environments.
• Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations, CT DEEP familiarity.
• Ability to perform hazard analyses, risk assessments and root cause investigations.
• Ability to interpret regulations and apply to engineering, manufacturing and operations.
• Proficient in data analysis and reporting to support compliance and metrics.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support day-to-day administration of the corporate EH&S program for the Torrington Manufacturing facility.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
• Support ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 (Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems).
• Prepare regulatory reports and maintain EH&S documentation systems.
• Administer and maintain EH&S calendars, contractor/supplier management, and records databases.
• Partner with engineering and R&D to integrate EH&S into design reviews and trials.
• Lead or support incident investigations, root cause analyses and corrective actions.
• Develop site-specific safety plans, JSAs, and hazard assessments.
• Assist in permitting and environmental compliance, including sampling and reporting.
• Conduct audits of EH&S recordkeeping and monitor corrective actions to closure.
• Deliver EH&S training and ensure compliance by employees.
• Support waste management programs for hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to integrate EH&S into projects.
• Lead Safety Committee and safety engagement activities.
• Support ESG and sustainability initiatives.
• Complete required reports and data processing for compliance.
