Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in industrial hygiene, occupational safety or related field with 9+ years (Bachelors) or 7+ years (Masters) experience in safety engineering.
• Deep understanding of OSHA regulations and safety concepts; ability to plan and coordinate workloads to deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to present findings to multiple levels of staff and management.
• Experience with risk assessment and safety program development; knowledge of confidentiality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as lead safety representative for General Atomics with minimal supervision.
• Develop and implement safety programs, procedures, and training materials.
• Analyze accidents, rates and trends; conduct investigations and recommend corrective actions.
• Counsel management on compliance with safety laws, codes and standards.
• Perform risk assessments and implement risk control measures; may supervise junior staff.
