Job summary

Sierra Space is seeking an Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) Engineer III to lead advanced testing and validation of aerospace systems. Candidates should have exposure to electrical, mechanical, and software disciplines and be ready to design custom test systems for power and communications racks used on space vehicles.

The role requires collaboration across teams, development of robust wiring and software integrations, and adherence to V&V processes.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree or Masters +3 yrs experience).
• Typically 5+ years of related experience.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.
• General expertise in one area of test engineering principles and practices (dynamics, thermal, measurement, HSI, SW Test, Integration, etc.).
• Ability to effectively work in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
• Experience with requirements management, system design, and systems integration.
• Experience planning, conducting, and documenting Verification and Validation (V&V) activities.
• Ability to read/interpret schematics, use service manuals, follow test procedures, and use logical troubleshooting techniques.

Responsibilities

• Apply expertise in test engineering principles to solve broad technical problems.
• Lead multi-disciplinary teams and guide less experienced engineers.
• Represent Test Engineering in requirements management and system integration.
• Plan, conduct, and document Verification and Validation activities.
• Read schematics, follow procedures, and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Use testing equipment and methodologies to support validation efforts.
• Document technical data and analyses to support decisions.
• Communicate concepts clearly to team members and stakeholders.
