Nicklaus Children's Health System in Miami, FL seeks an EEG Technician II to manage clinical and research EEG operations for pediatric patients. You will perform EEGs and evoked potentials, update Cerner records, and adapt techniques per history and EEG findings.

You will maintain equipment, ensure patient safety, and collaborate with neurologists to review data. This role requires strong English communication and ABRET/BLS credentials in a pediatric ICU setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Electroneurodiagnostic Technology program accredited by Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation or equivalent on-the-job training.
• ABRET certification must be maintained in good standing throughout employment.
• American Heart Association BLS certification must be maintained in good standing throughout employment.
• 4-7 years experience as Electroencephalographic Technologist II with emphasis in pediatrics, neonates and ICU

Responsabilités

• Performs EEG or Evoked Potential testing and updates in Cerner; adapts methods to obtain optimal results based on history and EEG findings.
• Reviews current EEG activity on Cerner video database.
• Interacts with computer programs to print selected data for review by the Neurologist.
• Follows physician instructions for electrode placement, hyperventilation, and cortical stimulation.
• Maintains equipment in clean operating condition and ensures patient safety; reports repairs within 24 hours.
• Performs data retrieval and prep of Video EEG records for physician interpretation; pre-screens EEG and behavioral data.
• Analyzes ictal/interictal features and artifacts; defines segments for later physician analysis.
• Performs EEGs and Long Term Video-EEG Monitoring using the 10-20 system and supplementary positions.
• Performs ECOG and subdural EEG in OR procedures; supports multiple patients per schedule.
• Conducts other studies such as functional brain stimulation, mapping, ECS recordings, SPECT and PET studies.
• Provides patient care and observation during seizures and emergencies.
• Prepares montage, filter settings and dips to assess seizure activity.
• Performs handoffs with Technicians to provide critical patient data for high-quality care.
• Documents EMR fields as required under meaningful use to optimize utilization.
• Participates in Lean initiatives to improve quality and patient experience.
