Job summary

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Electrical Technologies team in Rancho Bernardo. You will lead circuit and component radiation assurance efforts for space systems, guiding analyses, testing, and qualification of EEE parts for flight hardware.

The role requires deep expertise in radiation effects, semiconductor physics, and ability to lead technical efforts, interact with management, and support program offices.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's, master's, or PhD in engineering with extensive experience.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance is required.
• Experience in Electrical/Electronic/Electromechanical parts selection, analysis, screening, qualification, and derating.
• Demonstrated expertise in semiconductor physics, and space hardware systems design.
• Experience guiding a design through development and into production.

Responsibilities

• Lead concept development, prototype design, integration and test of electrical systems with Radiation Assurance focus.
• With limited direction, set technical objectives for advanced engineering problems.
• Improve legacy systems and develop new space hardware solutions.
• Generate radiation assurance analyses, document findings, and present results to management.
• Mentor and lead junior staff in technical efforts for space-based electronics.
• Coordinate analysis, documentation, reporting, and technical presentations.
