Job summary

Lowell Public School District seeks a Senior Database and Systems Administrator to lead district data systems, ensure data integrity, and oversee reporting to DESE and federal authorities.

You will design and maintain student information processes, train staff, and collaborate with administrators to expand data capabilities and implement new modules. Strong technical skills and experience in education data systems are essential.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree (preferred) from an accredited college or university.
• Five to seven years of relevant experience.
• Working knowledge of Aspen, Microsoft Office, Google Suite.
• Working knowledge of Connect Ed, Nutri-kids, Virtual Gateway, Versa Trans, Open Architects, and TeachPoint.
• Three to five years of experience in development, analysis, and submission of DESE reports.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with staff development.
• Working knowledge of XML, HTML, Java, and SQL.

Responsibilities

• Chiefly oversee and manage district data systems; establish and ensure accuracy and efficiency in data collection, maintenance, reporting, analysis, and interpretation
• Train and support the Database and Systems Administrator to ensure consistency of service across all platforms
• Manage all data storage and retrieval methods and understand the current trends and directions of database management systems
• Establish procedures and protocols for the initial entry and ongoing maintenance of all student information
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date student data and oversee the transmission of this data to DESE as directed, as well as meet all Federal reporting requirements
• Develop systems to facilitate data entry of student scores on all assessment programs into identified management systems
