Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Sr Research Scientist based in the United States to lead applied educational research at the intersection of data, assessment, and real-world decision-making.

You will partner with school districts, researchers, educators, and internal stakeholders to design studies, analyze large-scale datasets using R, Python, SQL, and Tableau, and translate findings into practical guidance for diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Education, Educational Measurement, Public Policy, Economics, Psychology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience conducting educational research and/or providing research, data, or assessment consultation.
• Strong quantitative research expertise with applicable methodologies.
• Proficiency with R, Stata, Python, or similar software; strong SQL skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted research advisor to school districts, researchers, educators, and internal stakeholders.
• Lead research consulting engagements from scoping through delivery; clarify questions, define methodologies, analyze, and communicate findings.
• Independently access, query, analyze, and manage large-scale assessment datasets using R, Python, SQL in Snowflake.
• Translate research findings into practical guidance for audiences with varying technical levels.
• Design and deliver partner-facing presentations, technical consultations, and data visualizations.
• Collaborate across research, education, technology, and business teams to create reusable resources and scalable solutions.
• Conduct rigorous applied research using large-scale assessment data and longitudinal datasets.
• Build and maintain relationships with educators, district leaders, researchers, and colleagues.
• Manage multiple engagements and deliver high-quality work to timelines.
• Travel 10-20% for partner engagements and events.
