Qualifications

• Admitted to practice law in New Jersey.
• Eight or more years of experience in the practice of law, preferably representing school districts before courts or administrative agencies.
• Experience in public contract law, special education, and/or labor/employment litigation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represents the Newark Board of Education in litigation and legal matters from inception to conclusion.
• Provides day-to-day oral and written legal advice to district administrators and board members.
• Drafts memoranda, opinions, pleadings, briefs, and administrative rule revisions for the General Counsel or Superintendent.
