Job summary

Cumming Group seeks a Senior Project Manager in Long Beach, CA to lead university construction projects from concept through closeout. You will supervise design and construction teams, manage budgets and schedules, and interface with university stakeholders to ensure alignment with goals.

You will guide design decisions, drive permitting, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, while maintaining thorough documentation and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CM/Engineering/Architecture or related field
• 10+ years in Project Management, engineering, or construction management
• 5+ years independently managing public works or higher education projects
• Experience with Design-Build or Progressive Design-Build delivery methods
• CCM/PMP/PE/AIA/LEED certifications preferred

Responsibilities

• Manage design and construction process end-to-end.
• Lead project collaboration across scope, contracting, construction administration and closeout.
• Plan, manage and coordinate schedule, scope and cost.
• Monitor contracts budgets; report on monthly cash flow.
• Communicate goals to project team and stakeholders.
• Guide design decisions and coordinate value engineering.
• Prepare submittals for review by university departments.
• Drive permitting with local, state and federal agencies.
• Coordinate with Inspector of Record and regulatory bodies.
• Maintain project documentation and records.
• Prepare cost and revenue projections.
