Job summary

Cumming Group is hiring a Project Engineer in Long Beach, CA to support education sector projects. You will coordinate design, bid processes, and field activities, ensuring compliance with plans, specs, and client expectations.

You’ll also manage documentation, meetings, and close-out tasks across preconstruction to final delivery. The role requires 5+ years in construction project management, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and proficiency with Bluebeam.

• Experience with the Addenda and Bid process.
• Ability to facilitate site meetings and prepare meeting minutes.

Responsibilities

• Provide design, technical, engineering, and administrative support during preconstruction, construction, and closeout phases.
• Coordinate with contractors, architects, engineers, inspectors, consultants and school staff.
• Manage project documents, minutes, RFIs, submittals, change orders, ASIs, schedules.
• Review and enforce contracts and approved changes.
• Facilitate design/construction meetings and field checks for compliance with specs and standards.
• Prepare scope of work and procurement documents for consultants and contractors.
• Close out projects with as-builts, punch lists, archiving, and DSAs.
