Job summary

GiveWell is hiring a Senior Communications Officer, Editorial & Production to lead the editorial quality and production of its communications. You will set the editorial bar, build teams and systems, and shape some of GiveWell’s most complex content.

This hands-on leadership role manages end-to-end content and ensures accuracy, tone, and timely delivery across channels while growing the function to meet strategic aims.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience leading editorial and content-production work.
• Hands-on leadership with end-to-end ownership of content.
• Ability to engage deeply with research and communicate with precision.

Responsibilities

• Own the editorial quality and production of GiveWell’s communications and serve as senior editor.
• Build workflows, standards, review processes, and production systems for scalable content.
• Lead planning, prioritization, and resource allocation for owned-content portfolio.
• Uphold GiveWell’s voice and editorial standards across all publications.
• Develop recurring communications and reporting products and turn priorities into clear content.
• Create, edit, or shape complex, high-priority content personally.
• Oversee website content operations and publishing processes.
• Partner with teams to define formats, roles, and timelines for major projects.
• Oversee design, visual, and multimedia assets and manage internal/external production
• Manage and develop one or two team members initially.
