Responsibilities

• Develop a journal development strategy for BMC Sports Science, Medicine and Rehabilitation and BMC Rheumatology.
• Collaborate with Journals Group to support publishing strategies and initiatives.
• Identify and develop reviews, collections, and supplements with the scientific community.
• Oversee editorial handling of manuscripts and ensure rigorous, novel content.
• Make editorial decisions and guide Editorial Board Members.
• Resolve publishing and integrity cases with ethical judgment.
• Work with internal teams to resolve editorial issues and maintain author satisfaction.
• Contribute to editorial policy development with evidence-based thinking.
• Maintain relationships with Editorial Board Members, reviewers, and authors.
• Lead discussions with Senior Board Members on strategy and policy.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and engagement of Editorial Board Members.
• Organize Editorial Board meetings and strategic discussions.
• Ensure adherence to journal policies and best practices.
• Partner with marketing to increase journal visibility and outreach.
• Develop website content, blogs, and social media to showcase values.
• Represent the journals at conferences and networking events.
• Contribute to a collaborative editorial culture during periods of change.
