Qualifications

• Educated to PhD or MD level in rehabilitation, sports science, rheumatology, or related discipline.
• Substantial editorial experience in scientific publishing is required for Senior Editor.
• Ability to critically evaluate scientific content for rigor, novelty, relevance and impact.
• Strong decision-making, objective and evidence-based editorial decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with a customer-focused approach.
• Proven ability to build productive stakeholder relationships with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop a journal development strategy for two journals using data-driven planning.
• Collaborate with Journals Group to support publishing strategies.
• Identify, commission, and develop reviews and supplements while building partnerships.
• Oversee editorial handling of manuscripts to ensure rigorous and impactful content.
• Make editorial decisions and guide Editorial Board Members with high standards.
• Resolve publishing and research integrity cases with resilience.
• Work with internal teams to resolve editorial issues and maintain author satisfaction.
• Contribute to editorial policy development with evidence-based thinking.
