Ziff Davis's CNET Group is seeking a senior editor to lead coverage of services and software with a privacy and cybersecurity focus. You’ll edit guides, product reviews and roundups, while managing staff and freelance writers and occasionally writing stories.

You’ll thrive in a fast-moving, fully remote team spread across Eastern and Pacific time zones, bringing project management discipline and a collaborative spirit to our editorial workflow.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of editing experience in digital publishing or equivalent.
• Experience evaluating online services, especially privacy and security.
• Ability to cut through marketing and explain practical benefits of services.
• Organized, able to track story ideas and publish.
• Collaborative, eager for feedback and working with colleagues beyond the team.
• Familiarity with AP Stylebook or in-house style guides.

Responsibilities

• Edit reviews, buying guides and news from Services and Software writers.
• Assign and edit stories to freelancers and staff.
• Provide structural, content and copy edits; publish on deadline.
• Create headlines and clear descriptions of complex technology.
• Participate in monthly content planning; organize production and brainstorm ideas.
• Learn key tech categories to improve readers' privacy and security.
