Job summary

Forbes Advisor is hiring a Senior Editor, Manager to edit and deliver high-performing paid social and native advertising creative and help build a small team of editors. This role is hands-on and focuses on sharp storytelling across social-native formats, with growth into leadership and hiring.

You will work with the Creative Director, Production, and Media Buying teams, guiding editors, shaping workflows, and ensuring assets are organized for fast delivery. AI fluency is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional video editing experience.
• Significant experience editing paid social, direct-response, DTC, or performance creative.
• Demonstrated experience cutting both social-native UGC/DTC and editorial content.
• Excellent hands-on editing craft with strong instincts for story, pacing, structure, music, graphics, and finish.
• Strong knowledge of short-form social creative, hooks, retention, pacing and captions.

Responsibilities

• Edit a high volume of paid social and native ads across in-person shoots, remote UGC, and AI-generated video.
• Cut across a wide range of styles, from simple UGC to elevated documentary and graphics-driven work.
• Bring editorial judgment to every cut, including story, hooks, pacing, structure, music, graphics, captions, and finish.
• Understand platform-native creative for Meta, TikTok, and other short-form channels.
• Work quickly without sacrificing craft, producing volume and variations for performance marketing.
• Use performance data and learnings to inform future edits.
• Help recruit and hire additional editors as the team grows.
• Review editors’ work and provide clear feedback and coaching.
• Establish editing systems, templates, and workflows for scalability.
• Collaborate with post-production to prep footage and assets.
• Build a bench of freelance editors for high-volume periods.
• Ensure finished ads meet legal and brand guidelines before launch.
