Job summary

CVS Health seeks a Senior Security Engineer to design, implement, and optimize security controls for web apps, APIs, and internet-facing services. You will lead Akamai WAF, Bot Manager, DDoS protections, and API security while collaborating with application, cloud, and network teams.

You will monitor telemetry, respond to incidents, and drive security improvements with CI/CD integration and on-call rotations, ensuring safety, quality, and risk management.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in enterprise web app, API, or edge security.
• 3+ years with Akamai security technologies or comparable.
• 3+ years WAF, bot management, DDoS, API/web security, SSL/TLS, and Linux-based environments.
• 2+ years analyzing telemetry, attack patterns, and countermeasures.

Responsibilities

• Administer Akamai security technologies including WAF and Bot Manager Premier.
• Design and maintain security controls for web apps, APIs, and internet-facing services.
• Configure and tune WAF protections, rate limiting, IP controls, and API protections.
• Investigate and mitigate DDoS attacks and other application-layer threats.
• Monitor security telemetry and respond to incidents; provide escalation support.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on CI/CD security integration.
