Job summary

Fairview in Edina, MN is seeking an Emergency Department Technician for 12-hour night shifts (7pm–7:30am), 72 hours every two weeks. The EDT supports the RN with patient care, transports patients and equipment, and maintains rooms and supplies in a busy Level 3 ED with trauma and stroke center designations.

The role requires BLS certification, and options include EMT/ERT, Paramedic, Nursing Assistant Registry eligibility, or enrollment in LPN/RN programs.

Qualifications

• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required upon hire and must be maintained.
• AND ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING: EMT or ERT, Paramedic, Nursing Assistant Registry eligibility, or enrollment in an LPN/RN/Nurse Practitioner program.
• Six months of direct patient care experience in an acute care, long term care, or home care setting.
• Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Assist the professional nurse in patient care delivery.
• Transport patients and equipment; set up and maintain patient rooms.
• Reorder and stock supplies; document care activities.
• Assist in resuscitation with CPR and bag/valve mask.
• Maintain patient rooms by restocking supplies and cleaning between patients.
• Perform quality control checks on equipment; perform other tasks as needed.
