Job summary

Vibehackers is seeking a Senior eCommerce Engineer to design and own full-stack features across React frontend and Java backend on large-scale eCommerce platforms. You will work with platform capabilities (SFCC/WebSphere), APIs, and integrations, while mentoring junior engineers and driving quality and reliability.

You will leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate delivery, participate in architecture decisions, and collaborate with product, design, and QA to build robust commerce experiences.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years of professional software development experience with strong full-stack expertise.
• Advanced proficiency in React and modern front-end architecture and strong Java back-end experience.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs and third-party integrations.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile/Scrum delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex, end-to-end full-stack features (React front-end and back-end services/APIs).
• Own features from technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and post-release monitoring.
• Make architectural and design trade-offs within feature areas; escalations platform-level decisions to Lead Engineer/Architect.
• Serve as a platform expert for core commerce capabilities (catalog, pricing, promotions, cart/checkout, order management) on platforms such as Salesforce Commerce Cloud or WebSphere Commerce.
• Design and build integrations between the commerce platform and systems like OMS, payments, search, and personalization.
• Identify and remediate platform performance, scalability, and reliability issues.
• Write high-quality, well-tested, maintainable code; champion test automation, observability, and secure coding practices.
• Responsibly leverage AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate development while validating outputs for correctness and security.
• Mentor eCommerce engineers through pairing, code review, and technical guidance; collaborate with product, design, and QA.
• Contribute to sprint planning, estimation, and technical documentation.

The Senior eCommerce Engineer is a key technical contributor responsible for designing, building, and owning complex full-stack features on flooranddecor.com . The role spans front-end React applications, Java back-end services/APIs, and integrations with eCommerce platform capabilities and adjacent systems. The engineer operates with a high degree of independence, mentors junior engineers, and raises the technical bar for the team.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• 4-7 years of professional software development experience with strong full-stack expertise.
• Advanced proficiency in React and modern front-end architecture and strong Java back-end experience.

• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile/Scrum delivery.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with large-scale eCommerce platforms such as Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFRA/PWA Kit), WebSphere Commerce, or comparable enterprise platforms.
• Direct production experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud or IBM WebSphere Commerce in high-traffic environments.
• Hands-on use of AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) to accelerate delivery.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerized/microservices architectures.
• Familiarity with performance optimization, caching strategies, and site reliability practices for high-traffic eCommerce sites.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
