Lawhon & Associates, Inc. is seeking an experienced ecologist for our Columbus office. The role blends field surveys with office work and offers hybrid flexibility.

You will conduct wetlands delineations, stream assessments, botanical surveys and support waterway permitting, under senior ecologists' guidance. The position provides opportunities to develop project and client management skills, strengthen technical writing and coordination with agencies, and contribute to a growing environmental

Qualifications

• Degree in biology or environmental science required.
• 3–5 years wetland delineation and ecological consulting experience.
• Experience preparing PNCs for Section 404/401 Nationwide Permits.
• Overnight travel to Ohio jobsites may be required.
• Strong written, verbal and analytical skills.
• Team collaboration and independent work capability.

Responsibilities

• Assign ecological survey and waterway permitting tasks to the team.
• Gain project and client management experience.
• Combine field and office work to develop data collection, management and reporting skills.
• Support technical writing, agency coordination and project leadership.
