Job summary

Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber is seeking a Wetland Scientist/Ecologist to lead ecological consulting across the Midwest. The role focuses on wetland delineation, permitting, species evaluations, and ecological monitoring within civil engineering projects.

You will manage client relationships, schedules, and budgets, lead field surveys, prepare technical reports, and support business growth while traveling to project sites across Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong technical writing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common software tools.
• Willingness to travel to project sites across the Midwest.

Responsibilities

• Manage clients, projects, budgets, and schedules.
• Oversee development of reports, protective measures, and wetland impact minimization.
• Lead and conduct natural features assessments, surveys, permitting, monitoring, and reporting.
• Execute flora and fauna surveys.
• Conduct wetland delineations and site assessments.
• Perform endangered species evaluations and tree surveys.
• Determine water resources permitting requirements.
• Read historical maps, GPS data, and aerial photographs.
• Prepare proposals, work plans, and technical reports.
• Travel to project sites and assist with other field services.
