Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Biologist to join our Southern California Ecosystems Group, operating from one of several southern California offices including Irvine. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage projects through siting and permitting of energy projects, and coordinate with clients, regulators, and staff.

The role emphasizes regulatory strategy, CEQA/NEPA analysis, and flora/fauna expertise with opportunities for fieldwork during construction and restoration projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences or related field with 10+ years of experience.
Strong botanical, wetland, or wildlife expertise and regulatory permitting knowledge.
Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and clients.

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor project field teams on renewable energy and other projects.
Plan, prepare, and review technical reports and regulatory documents.
Develop permitting strategies and coordinate agency negotiations.
Coordinate with clients and regulators to communicate results of surveys.
Support business development and respond to proposals with scope and cost inputs.
Travel as needed to project sites and client offices.
