Job summary

Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Senior Echocardiographer to perform and analyze advanced echocardiographic procedures, including transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress tests. The role requires leadership, collaboration with physicians, and dedication to patient care.

This part-time, days position offers 32 hours weekly, with 8-hour shifts, call required, and opportunities for professional growth within a comprehensive Cardiac Non-Invasive Lab, EP, and Cath Lab teams.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited echocardiography program (or equivalent education) in accordance with IAC Guidelines (required).
• Associate Level Degree (required).
• Certification/Licensure RCS and CCI (required).
• BLS (required).

Responsibilities

• Perform transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms to evaluate heart function and pathology.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team to provide accurate diagnostic information.
• Mentor junior staff, train and manage scheduling, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
• Work in Cardiac Non-Invasive Lab, EP and Cath Lab, OR and ICU, bedside testing as required.
