Job summary

Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk, VA seeks a Senior Echocardiographer for a part-time, day-shift role (32 hours/week). The incumbent will perform advanced echocardiographic studies, including transthoracic, transesophageal and stress echocardiography, and will mentor staff while ensuring high-quality patient care across non-invasive labs, EP, Cath Lab, OR and ICU.

The position requires graduation from an accredited echocardiography program, an associate degree, RCS/CCI certification, BLS, and

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited echocardiography program (or equivalent education) in accordance with IAC Guidelines.
• Associate Level Degree (required).
• Certification/Licensure: RCS and CCI (required).
• BLS (required).

Responsibilities

• Performs two dimensional, Doppler, transesophageal and stress echocardiograms to evaluate heart and vessel abnormalities.
• Completes the technologist report in the structured report application.
• Provides leadership to support department staffing, accreditation, and staff education.
• Works across Cardiac Non-Invasive Lab, EP, Cath Lab, OR and ICU; mentors junior staff and participates in quality improvement.
