Job summary

Easterseals Southern California seeks an educator for the Early Head Start/Head Start program. You will plan and implement an inclusive curriculum, supervise classroom activities, and support families through parent conferences and trainings.

The role requires a BA in early childhood education or related field, a Child Development Teacher Permit, and experience with preschool or infant/toddler settings. Strong communication and safety skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BA degree in early childhood education, child development or related field.
• Must possess and maintain a Child Development Teacher Permit.
• Ongoing educational requirements to qualify for permit/CDA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Educate and supervise assigned children in a developmentally appropriate and inclusive curriculum.
• Plan, implement, and supervise a curriculum aligned with Head Start standards.
• Maintain weekly lesson plans, progress notes, screenings, and required paperwork.
• Coordinate classroom meetings and participate in staff and parent meetings and trainings.
• Provide prenatal education and health resources to pregnant women in the program.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
