Job summary

Easterseals Southern California, Inc. is hiring an Associate Teacher for the Early Head Start/Head Start program in California. You will deliver an inclusive curriculum, supervise classroom activities, and support the caregiving team to ensure children’s safety and development.

The role requires a BA in early childhood or related field, a Child Development Teacher Permit, and CPR/First Aid certification. 350 days of preschool/infant-toddler teaching within four years is expected, with ongoing

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child development, or related field.
Must possess and maintain a Child Development Teacher Permit.
CPR and First Aid certification, plus a Food Handler’s certificate, are required.

Responsibilities

Plan, implement, and evaluate an inclusive curriculum for Head Start children.
Support primary caregiving including safety and supervision.
Maintain weekly lesson plans, progress notes, and assessments within required timelines.
Coordinate and conduct bi-monthly classroom unit meetings and volunteer input.
Collaborate with parents through meetings and trainings; plan parent education activities.
Provide input on staff development and training events.
