Job summary

Easterseals Southern California, Inc. is hiring an Associate Teacher for the Early Head Start/Head Start program in California. You will deliver an inclusive curriculum, supervise classroom activities, and support the caregiving team to ensure children’s safety and development.

The role requires a BA in early childhood or related field, a Child Development Teacher Permit, and CPR/First Aid certification. 350 days of preschool/infant-toddler teaching within four years is expected, with ongoing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, child development, or related field.
• Must possess and maintain a Child Development Teacher Permit.
• CPR and First Aid certification, plus a Food Handler’s certificate, are required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate an inclusive curriculum for Head Start children.
• Support primary caregiving including safety and supervision.
• Maintain weekly lesson plans, progress notes, and assessments within required timelines.
• Coordinate and conduct bi-monthly classroom unit meetings and volunteer input.
• Collaborate with parents through meetings and trainings; plan parent education activities.
• Provide input on staff development and training events.
