Job summary

Easterseals Southern California seeks an Associate Teacher for the Early Head Start/Head Start program in Encinitas. Under supervision, you will plan and implement an inclusive curriculum for young children and support primary caregiving, safety, and daily activities.

You will maintain lesson plans, track child progress, conduct home visits, and participate in trainings and parent meetings. Valid California CDA and CPR/First Aid certifications are required, with the possibility of salary based

Qualifications

• Experience teaching in a preschool or infant/toddler classroom (50 days of 3+ hours per day within 2 years).
• Ability to build consistent, supportive relationships with very young children and their families.
• Knowledge of Head Start standards, policies and procedures; Easterseals Southern California expectations.
• Proficiency with basic MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Skype).

Responsibilities

• Educates in a developmentally appropriate and inclusive curriculum for assigned children. Maintains safety and supervision throughout the day.
• Plans, implements and evaluates lessons; conducts home visits and parent conferences as required.
• Tracks child goals, lesson plans, progress notes, and screenings within timelines.
• Coordinates classroom activities, staff meetings, and parent trainings; supports volunteers and interns.
