Sonnet Montessori in Iowa is seeking a Lead Educator to create a warm, inclusive learning environment where children thrive. You will plan play-based activities, support social and emotional development, and foster a love of learning aligned with early childhood standards.

Responsibilities include curriculum planning, classroom management, accurate progress documentation, and proactive parent communication. Must meet DHS qualifications and be able to lift up to 40 lbs.

Qualifications

• Must meet DHS qualifications for a Lead Educator in a licensed child care center.
• Experience with young students in a licensed early childhood education setting.
• Knowledge of early childhood development principles.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Physical demands, including lifting up to 40 lbs.
• Background checks and licensing compliance.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and online lesson planning.

Responsibilities

• Implement play-based, age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with early learning standards.
• Maintain a positive classroom culture fostering belonging, safety, and curiosity.
• Observe and assess student development and tailor instruction accordingly.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of student progress and development.
• Establish and maintain a positive classroom culture; manage behavior.
• Provide daily communication with parents via the Parent Communication app.
• Collaborate with families to support learning at school and home.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and share ideas with colleagues.
